The PROMOTE project is an innovative initiative (funded under the Partnership for Excellence – Centres of Vocational Excellence), aimed at enhancing the skills and professional development of staff within the European correctional justice system. This project aligns with broader European efforts to advance educational standards and rehabilitation methods within correctional facilities, thereby promoting a more effective and humane criminal justice system

- Improvement of Professional Skills: Enhancing the skills and competencies of prison staff to meet the evolving demands of correctional environments.
- Implementation of Innovative Practices: Introducing innovative educational and training practices that are tailored to the unique needs of correctional facilities.
- Enhancement of Staff Well-being: Focusing on the well-being of prison staff to improve their job satisfaction, reduce turnover, and foster a positive work environment.
- Promotion of Inclusive Practices: Developing inclusive educational practices that cater to the diverse backgrounds and needs of correctional staff.

The PROMOTE project employs a comprehensive approach combining research, development, and practical implementation:
- Research: Conducting extensive research to identify the current gaps and needs in the training of correctional staff.
- Development: Creating training modules and educational materials based on the latest pedagogical theories and practices.
- Training Workshops: Organizing workshops and seminars for prison educators and trainers to disseminate new methodologies and tools.
- Pilot Testing: Implementing pilot programs within selected European correctional facilities to test and refine the proposed educational models.
