The project aims to enhance the communication skills of police officers and police academy educators, ensuring that they can communicate effectively with the public, gain trust and respect, and follow basic principles of respect. It also seeks to improve emotional control, question-asking, and active listening skills. The project aims to complement existing curricula and techniques and improve communication competencies for practice.
What do we want to achieve by implementing the POL-COM project?
- Build capacity of educators working in police academies – equip them to teach Communications training effectively to future law enforcement officers.
- A training programme and interactive tools with long term impact and sustainability to enhance non-verbal communication skills, active listening skills, intercultural communication skills among trainee police officers.
- An interactive platform with gamified modules to meet the gap in police training with respect to Communications.

- Digital content and pedagogical practices
- Creating new, innovative or joint curricula or courses
- Soft skills
Project activities planned to achieve:
- Training content production – with training modules, handbooks, guides, and case studies, that will be made available through the digital platform.
- Creation of Training utility tools – containing video simulations, case studies, and other interactive materials that can be used by educators to complement the modules.
- A platform that will be a central hub for accessing training modules and resources on communication, both internal and external.
