This project aims to implement science-based spiritual counselling for people who have been in prison. What makes ESCAPE unique is its scientific approach to training methodology, elevating the current spiritual counselling services in prisons and probation centres.
The project has the following objectives:
- Data Collection: ESCAPE is dedicated to gathering valuable insights through surveys and field analysis to understand the unique challenges faced by young ex/prisoners, allowing us to tailor our approach to their specific needs.
- Methodological Framework: We’re developing a robust, science-based framework, serving as the bedrock for our training methodologies, ensuring their effectiveness.
- Spiritual Counseling Tool: ESCAPE is creating an accessible online tool for young ex/prisoners to access spiritual counseling resources.
2 main target groups:
1) Young prisoners, currently in the prison and exprisoner at the age of 14-18, who require a holistic rehabilitation and resocialization/ social inclusion spiritual counselling and/or support approach to solve the internal or external conflicts for their inner peace, to be self-motivated and to be rehabilitated individuals for social inclusion.
2) Spiritual counselling professionals; social workers, psychologists, sociologists working with young ex/prisoners.
What do we aim to achieve?
- A field analysis report was prepared obtaining the data from the survey platform established in the context of the project.
- A collection booklet of good examples of SCM’s in prison and probation instutions contexts was prepared as a base of a science based transnational SCM.
- A science-based transnational spiritual counselling methodological framework for young ex/prisoners was developed
- A sustainable open-access and accessible online science-based spiritual counselling methodology tool for young ex/prisoners for sharing and promoting project results
